CANDIDATES

AMON, POLANZKE, TURNER, WHITELEY
FOR YS BOARD OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS

Municipal Election - Nov. 4, 2025

Danny Amon

four-year term candidate

“Having worked closely with many York Suburban students and families during my career—and as a parent of a future YS student—I am running for YS School Board to ensure students have access to a healthy learning environment. I believe student success begins with healthy habits, self-discipline and a strong work ethic. In an age where information is readily available at their fingertips, it is more important than ever to teach students how to critically evaluate information.”

Jim Polanzke

four-year term candidate

“I am running for the York Suburban School Board because I have seen firsthand the benefits of caring teachers, staff, and administrators, as well as the quality education they provided my daughter as a York Suburban student. A welcoming and challenging public school district prepares students to become critical thinkers and productive, compassionate members of society. It is vital for our district to collaborate with the extended YS community to provide the quality education every student deserves.”

Ashley Turner

four-year term candidate

“I am running for re-election to the York Suburban School Board because I believe a quality public education is essential for all students. YS must continue focusing on maintaining small class sizes, providing students access to extracurricular activities that require engagement in their education, hiring and retaining the highest quality teachers and staff, and advocating for reforms at the state level that increase revenue without the need for local tax increases.”

Steve Whiteley

four-year term candidate

“Although my days of daily interactions with students are over, I know I can still help support York Suburban’s mission to Inspire a Bold Future. I’m fortunate to have taught long enough to see the positive impact that YSSD has had on our students after they graduate. YS must continue to support students, teachers, and staff while prioritizing sound fiscal management that protects property values.”
